We met Janice of Walls-of-Art, at the
Calgary Home Show in the autumn of 2005. We had just purchased
a 1992 built home in McKenzie Lake consisting of a total of
5000 sq. feet. The home was, of course, dated in colours,
flooring, etc. Cosmetic renovations were a must and we knew
that hiring an interior decorator was the way to go to achieve
the overall look we were after. We welcomed Janice on board
wholeheartedly.
Janice has a great eye for colour and
design. Most importantly, she is very intuitive and knew our
likes and dislikes from the get-go. She helped us choose wall
colours which we continually get complements on. All the
flooring throughout the home was replaced, except for the
hardwood.
Janice helped select a slate that was
used in the dining room, master ensuite, kitchen backsplash,
games room, bar area, as well as countertop in the bar. It is
very complementary to the colours in our home. She helped
select a wonderful stone which we refaced our floor-to-ceiling
fireplace with - this is a main focal point in the great room
area. We also replaced all blinds
for which Janice tracked down a great price from a reputable
business. New draperies were needed in the great room, dining
room, master bedroom and ensuite.
We now have elegant italian silk
curtains for which Janice planned the valance design and
overall look. Our home also has some wonderful light fixtures,
again chosen with Janice's help. We had 3 bathrooms and 2
bedrooms faux finished by Janice - all of which have their own
unique look.
In December, we were the hosts of an
important Christmas party attended by over 50 people. The day
of the party, Janice provided her time by coming over to hang
pictures, decorate with accessories and make our home look
well dressed for the evening's events. She went above and
beyond that day.
In closing, Walls-of-Art, and Janice
and company, come highly recommended by us for interior
design, faux finishing, inspiration, etc. We have received
many complements on our home and we are extremely comfortable
and pleased with our space. Our look is comprised of modern
and rustic - it works so well together, thanx to Janice. We
will enjoy this home for many years to come.
