Janice Paisley is Principal of Janice Paisley Design & Walls of Art. She is originally from Regina, SK, and has lived and worked in Toronto,ON, Indianapolis, IN and now resides in Calgary, AB. Walls of Art has been in operation since 1998 officially celebrating 10 years in business in Regina and Calgary for 2 years during 2008. Janice Paisley Design has developed out of continual requests for decor and design services. She also holds a certificate in Design from Sheffied Design School, taken a variety of classes through SIAST and other professional associated courses.
Janice has worked in all of areas of Interior Decorating. Prior to returning to Canada she worked with an associate in Indianapolis, IN in a decorative painting business. She is also a fine artist working in watercolours, acrylics, pastels and silver smithing and jewellery design. Art Projects also include ceramic tile mosaics, painted glassware, painted furnishings, and restorations projects. Janice has a keen eye for colour and a very clear understanding of all decorative painting techniques, and dedicates herself to this as an art form.
Decorating projects have included Hospitals of Regina Lottery Homes, Staging Show Homes for a variety of builders in Calgary and Regina, as well she was 1 of only 12 designers to work on the Community Living Charity Home 2005. Some career highlights include Awards for Home and Garden Show displays, invitation to help design and paint the stage for the "Designer guys"Janice also consults and specialty paints on many commercial projects. Some projects include, Casino Moose Jaw, Bestwestern Seven Oaks Regina, Travel Lodge Regina, University of Regina Conservatory. She also donates projects to a variety of charities.
Working within themes is especially enjoyable to her. As a decorator Janice works to evolve a style so as to avoid a catalogue look. She is aware that each clients personal style is unique to them. She works with clients to help them achieve their personal look.
Janice has been invited to speak on the subject of Art outside the Gallery sense at the University of Regina. She has also been invited to speak to local high school and community colleges. Janice has also taught faux finishing and specialty painting classes. She is available for speaking engagements. Please contact her in person to make arrangements for such events.
